Casas por Cristo is Spanish for “Houses because of Christ.” Casas por Cristo is a non-denominational Christian ministry started in 1993 to address the needs of the poor in Mexico. We have formed a partnership between the churches of the United States, Canada, and Mexico to serve the needs of Mexican families, following the example of Jesus who said, “The Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45). Working through churches in Mexico, we provide service opportunities for groups who want to help those in need. Our Motto, “Building Homes, Changing Lives” comes to life in this partnership.

We believe that all people, from the newborn infant to the most elderly person, deserve to be valued in our community. Therefore, Lutheran Family Services is committed to offering love and support to the people it serves, regardless of race, religion, gender, or age, to help equip them to live full and whole lives.

In 1964 in response to growing community needs relating to serving the working-poor, indigent and homebound elderly in South Metro Denver, leaders from all segments of the community - led by Inter-Faith founder Maida Navis - came together in what was and is truly a community-based effort to form Inter-Faith Task Force for Community Services (now Inter-Faith Community Services).

Via de Cristo is a renewal movement of the church patterned on Jesus' example. Its purpose is to help those in the church understand their individual callings to be Christian Leaders. The leadership may be exercised in work situations, in the family and social life, in leisure activities, and within the Church environment. Leadership, in Via de Cristo, does not mean power over others, but influence on others; all of us need to be aware that we can exert a positive influence on those around us.
